welcome to lumina trails
My journey with photography began at ten years old, armed with a film camera gifted by my grandfather. But years later, finding myself fatigued by the endless sea of identical sunset photos online, I went looking for something different. I craved peace, tranquility, and a way to make the invisible visible. That search led me to the world of light painting, and I never looked back.
Lumina Trail is born from that very pursuit. “Lumina” speaks to the light itself, while “Trails” represents the unpredictable adventure of night photography. On any given night, you might find me deep in a forest creek with only the sound of running water and owls overhead; or dodging swarms of huhu bugs and moths in the pitch black. From falling into rivers to a few close calls with steel wool, every image is hard-won.
While I started out simply wanting to create beautiful images, my focus has evolved into deep visual storytelling. Before every shoot, I ask myself: What is the point I am trying to convey? Whether scouting a rugged coastline to fit a specific concept or letting the texture of an old location spark a new idea, I treat my work as a true collaboration; often working closely with other artists, moving together in the dark to bring a shared vision to life.
What began as a passionate hobby has transitioned into an internationally recognized pursuit. But when you look at a Lumina Trails image, I don’t want your first thought to be about the technical puzzle of how it was made. Instead, I want you to step into the dark with me, get lost in the image, and simply feel the emotion of the moment.
